Abeome and Millipore launch monoclonal antibody for stem cell research

Abeome announced the launch of a unique stem cell monoclonal antibody (mAb) for distribution through Millipore Corporation. Under the agreement, Millipore is granted an exclusive worldwide license to market and distribute the antibody for research use. Abeome receives VentureLab Phase IIIa loan from the Georgia Research Alliance

Abeome has been awarded a follow-on $80,000 loan from the Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) for Abeome to use to continue the development of its monoclonal antibody technology. In addition, these funds, which have favorable repayment terms, will enable Abeome to expand its presence at trade shows and biotech partnering conferences.

Innovation Grant for $100k awarded to Abeome for ovarian cancer research

Abeome announced that the Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) had awarded the company with a matching grant of $100k to develop monoclonal antibodies and perform functional testing on a several lines of ovarian cancer cells. The project will commence in July and is a collaboration among several top researchers at UGA including Dr. Rich Meagher and Dr. David Puett.

The company will again be working with SSB Solutions, a leading heathcare consulting firm, to create marketing materials and booth graphics for future presentations at technology trade shows.

Abeome key patent is issued in the US

The US Patent and Trademark Office issued Abeome's "Rapid Production of Monoclonal Antibodies" (Meagher et al.) patent on 12 December 2006. The patent is held by the University of Georgia Research Foundation (UGARF) and provides intellectual property protection for the company via an exclusive licensing deal with UGARF.

Abeome showcased its DiSH technology for accelerating development of monoclonal anitbodies at the BIO Fusion industry conference held September 18th in Durham. NC. The meeting was well attended by biopharma companies and has led to early stage discussions on licensing its technology.

The 6th annual SE BIO Investor Forum has selected Abeome to present at its upcoming conference to be held in Atlanta on November 8-10, 2006. Abeome is among a select group of "early-stage" companies to be profiled at the Forum. CEO Mike Wanner will present Abeome's DiSH technology to a panel of life science, venture capital, financing and other industry participants and will highlight the company's licensing and fund raising potential.
